![]() I had a minor issue with an update, and they responded and fixed my issue within an hour on a Saturday. Not only are the dev(s) active members here that take customer feedback seriously they respond to support emails very quickly and are always helpful. Like an iOS calculator app that has a compass function or something. I know other features can just be ignored but I feel like a program is gimmicky when they start adding things unrelated to its original purpose. ![]() Plus it sticks to specifically temps and fan control without bloating the software with "other" features that are unrelated to that. From a plethora of menu bar customizations to the app being able to email you a notification on temp/fan triggers plus logging for diagnostic reasons. Regardless I do feel its a premium product and therefore should command a premium price although $18 dollars does seem excessive.īut they took something that is relatively trivial (measuring temps) and cranked it to 11. Or if they got close it was sketchy because they would override the OS fan control and cause the CPU to overheat when I was transcoding videos if I forgot to turn it off. I'm not sure but maybe other programs offer that now? At the time when I got TG Pro they didn't. While that list seemed ridiculous request TG Pro easily accomplished it. The above method had it running longer but at lower speeds (quieter) which was much easier to tolerate. BTW the problem I was having is the OS would increase the fan to max on and off, on and off which got tiring. That way the fan would quietly increase before the OS would ramp it up and keep the GPU cooler than stock while minimizing noise levels all without overriding the OS fan control so I didn't need to turn it on/off before and after gaming. Not exceed 80% max fan speed for that single component unless OS X needed to override itģ. SLOWLY ramp up over the course of time when GPU temps reached 85c (not just shoot to max)Ģ. For example when gaming I wanted the fan to:ġ. When I got it there were no other programs available that could adjust the fan speed to specific component temps in a way TG Pro could. But that $18 could be easily justified depending on what you are trying to accomplish. ![]() I originally bought it for ~10 dollars years ago. Also its a fan controller which goes hand in hand with temps. Not saying this is a "get what you pay for situation" but there is something to be said about a temp sensing program that can measure temps (SSD) vs a temp sensing program that cannot measure temps. I said iStat Menus is different and that Macs Fan Control is not way better. World clock display lets you see the time in multiple locations around the world.Īlso, I never used the word critical. Date & Time - Date and time in your menubar.Bluetooth - Control bluetooth status plus monitor the battery level of your Apple wireless keyboard or mouse.2 display modes, ability to hide sensors you don't want to see. Fans - Monitor the fan speeds in your Mac.Temps - Monitor the temperature of your Mac.Network - Monitor current and total bandwidth, peak bandwidth, IP addresses, and the ability to hide network connections you don't want to see. ![]() 6 display modes, ability to hide disks you dont want to see. Disks - Monitor disk usage and activity.4 display modes, page ins/outs and swap usage display.
